I had a new blacktop driveway installed once and a mound like that appeared, the company came back and it was a frigging weed, Could not believe a weed would have enough force to push itself up through 4" of blacktop. Dig it out, should be easy to patch although you will see the spot.
Our 6 week old asphalt driveway has numerous sections that are very rough, with lots of stones in the aggregate showing (the consistency in places reminds me of a rice krispie treat). The builder had the paving company inspect the driveway and …
Stone Matrix Asphalt (SMA) is a type of high-strength, performance-grade asphalt mixture that provides superior durability due to its high aggregate content and a rich mortar binder. The structure of SMA is significantly different from traditional asphalt mixtures because it relies on stone-on-stone contact to provide strength and resistance …

A general rule of thumb is 30 days although I've painted masonry repairs the next day. The biggest thing that will happen is the mortar might burn some of the color out of the paint. A 2nd coat usually rectifies that issue. Paint doesn't always hold up well on horizontal concrete, especially if it's exposed to the weather.
Asphalt is a craftable building material commonly found in roads & streets. It can be crafted using the Cement Mixer. Mining Asphalt using a Pickaxe yields 27 Small Stones. Asphalt can be repaired with up to 5 Concrete Mix .

What Is Crushed Gravel? Crushed gravel driveways refer to those composed of coarse sand intermixed with small stones. Typically, the bottom layer is made of a mixture of sand, dirt, and stone.
For good paving results, the lift thickness of a dense-graded asphalt mix should be 2½ to 3 times the maximum aggregate size or 3 to 4 times the nominal aggregate size in the mix. A dense gradation of sound, tough, moisture-resistant aggregate contributes to pavement durability. It provides closer contact among aggregate particles, enhancing ...

When soft aggregate is used to create asphalt pavement, such as river rock, the small stones start to polish under heavy traffic and tire wear. This can create a slick surface that becomes dangerous in wet, snowy or icy conditions. Fixing polished aggregate can be accomplished by applying a non-stick slurry seal, BST or an overlay treatment.
Issue #2: Potholes. Similar to depressions, potholes indicate that your asphalt has been subjected to bad weather and possibly standing water during or shortly after the paving process. Standing water and poor weather conditions can cause chunks of asphalt to dislodge from the pavement's surface.
