Ball seats can come in different diameters. Radius measurements of 12mm, 13mm, or 14mm. Mercedes use mostly 12mm, Audi/VW use 13mm, and Porsche use 14mm radius on the ball seats. ALT wheels will use conical bolts. Like. This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread.
Original cap and ball revolver moulds cast both a round ball and a conical. The conical had a rebated base for attaching a paper tube containing powder to form a …
Similar to a balloon whisk but with a more tapered shape, the French whisk is pretty much also what it sounds like: a slightly fancified version of the basic whisk. Its thinner profile and more closely-spaced wires make it better suited for sauces and liquids like salad dressing than denser batters. Balloon whisks and French whisks are the ...

Wheels can use a spherical (also referred to as a "ball seat), tapered (also referred to as a conical seat because it's shaped like a cone), a flat seat, or a mag seat. The seat on the wheel determines which lug nut you install. In other words, never use a conical nut on a wheel with a ball seat, flat or mag seat, and vice versa.
Self-centering: The cone shape provides a self-centering function that can lead to better alignment. Cons: Less precision: The fit of cone seat lug nuts may be less precise than their ball seat counterparts. Potential for overtightening: The tapered design can sometimes lead to overtightening and damage to the wheel or lug nut.
8. Spline Drive Lug Nuts. Spline drive lug nuts feature a conical seat and spline grooves along the length of the bolt. Like tuner-style nuts, these require a special tool to operate. However, while the key on a tuner nut with a hex socket goes inside, the spline drive tool fits around the outer grooves of the lug nut.
In a ball valve, the disc or ball is smaller than the disc or plug in a plug valve. A plug valve can give a tighter shut-off than a ball valve because of this. In comparison to a ball valve, plug valves are also …
Hi, Help a newby here. I know what a round ball is but am having a time trying to figure out the difference between a conical, mini and a maxi. I have some,457 conical type bullets that are for my Ruger, old army revolver and some other bullets that weigh out at 370 grains. So please explain the different nomenclature to me. Thanks OB
The FermZilla is a PET plastic conical that has a few awesome features. This fermenter is pressure rated for 35 psi. This means you can ferment, carbonate, and dispense your beer directly from the fermenter! The biggest flaw in FermZilla's design is the use of PET plastic.

Sabot Bullets. Sabot rounds were a huge leap forward in muzzleloader ammunition technology. Before that, conical lead bullets and patched round balls were all there were. Their introduction nearly …
A PRB barrel is typically 1:56, 1:60, 1:66 or 1:70. A conical or sabot barrel is 1:24, 1:28, 1:32, or a smidgen more. I believe the 1:48 was chosen by TC, CVA, etc. as a middle of the road barrel to shoot both conicals/sabots and PRB. That way they filled the nitch of both shooters.
This is part 1 of a three part series comparing the performance characteristics of various projectiles shot from a Colt style 1860 Army cap and ball revolver. In this series we will measure the accuracy, velocity and muzzle energy and penetration of round ball versus conical bullets. Part 1 will ...
The difference between the two types of burrs is the shape of their rings. Conical burrs have a cone-shaped ring that sits inside another cone-shaped ring that's hallow. Beans are directed down …
Lug_Nut said: The steel wheels (I've not ever seen cone seat steel wheels) will be more forgiving of a contact difference (cone seat into spherical socket) than would an alloy wheel. The VW factory alloys with which I have familiarity (mark2, mark3, B4, B5) all used the ball seat as well. Aftermarket, non-VW, alloy wheels might use cone seat.

Let me clarify, up to 100yds, the PRB does in fact have a wound channel diameter advantage but at 100yds, the conical is making the same diameter wound …

How accurate is a patched 50 cal. round ball vs. a conical bullet at 100 to 150 yds. 2. Also how much more accurate is a 1:32 rifling vs. a 1:48 for conical bullets at 100 to 150 yds. for deer hunting. ... Normally a rate of twist for a patched round ball (if memory serves which, it hardly ever does any more) would be something like a 1 in 70 ...
Conical Lug Nuts. The conical lug nut, otherwise known as the acorn lug, is the most popular lug nut in the aftermarket wheel industry.. Conical lugs fit into cone seated lug holes and are incredibly easy to work with since that 60-degree slope actually self-centers the lug when tightened down.. Conical lugs like most of the other lug types can …

133. Location. Alabama. Aug 17, 2023. #18. @ETipp, I found that the extra patch over powder below patched ball/conical to be effective in improving accuracy in some rifles. However, I found that the felt wad under the patched ball/conical improved accuracy more consistently than the patch under a patched ball/conical.
Same with round ball versus conical. A 50 round ball has a BC of about .07 and a 54 round ball of about .075, by comparison a 50 powerbelt 338 is .275. It depends on the shape of the conical but I think you'll find most conicals have a BC over .2. This means they will maintain a much higher percentage of their velocity and energy down range.

Burr grinders tend to create more heat than conical ones because their blades require extra power. The latter doesn't need as much energy so you'll find they have better heat retention. If you want to prevent overheating, check that the burr grinder has low revolutions per minute (RPM) such as 1,500.
