Zinc is one of the impure elements in acidic solutions obtained from gallium sources; therefore, flotation studies were performed to investigate the removal of Ga(III) from Zn(II) using sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) as an anionic surface-active agent.
Fig. 1 shows the kinetics of flotation of zinc (Curve 1) and cadmium (Curve 2) in the presence of ferric hydroxide (0.1 M) with Tween 80 (0.01%). From the curves, it can be seen that the removal increases with the bubbling time increase; after about 10 min the highest removal is reached, about 62% of zinc and 36% of cadmium.
A perfect Zn and Cd removal efficiency was made at pH = 12 and 4 mg/g of Na 2 S during the first 5 min of soil washing process, then a longer flotation time (> 5 min) caused mechanical entrainment ...

The results showed that L-cysteine addition increased the dissolution rates of zinc and cadmium while reducing them at higher concentrations. The optimal conditions were achieved by using 0.1 g/L of L-cysteine in mesophilic cultures with zinc recovery of 73.92% and cadmium recovery of 81.45%, respectively. Similarly, zinc recovery was 92.54% in ...

The results revealed that cadmium can be efficiently removed using the flotation method. Jurkiewicz [40] carried out flotation of cadmium and zinc, with magnesium precipitate as well as non-ionic surfactant Tween-80 and anionic surfactant sodium laurate and stearate, and obtained the results shown in Table 6.
Abstract. Selective separation of impurities contained in aragonite (CaCO 3) before their determination by atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) was performed by the method of flotation. At proper selected pH, Ag, Cd, Cr, Mn, Tl, and Zn present in an aqueous solution of aragonite, unless Ca, were incorporated in the mass of the collector …
Similarly when floating Zinc-cadmium is associated. Here too we call single zinc flotation. Any mineral which cannot be separated physically is not used to call as bulk floatation. Please confirm in your case what is true. Is gold and pyrite can be separated physically or pyrite is in solid solution or interlocked stage in fine form.
Zinc and Pb are the major constituents of the ore minerals sphalerite (ZnS) and galena (PbS). Cadmium is the constituent element of the mineral greenockite (CdS) and also occurs as a significant impurity (usually ∼ 0.2–0.4%) in the ore mineral sphalerite, sphalerite being the important commercial source (Greenwood and Earnshaw, 2001 ...

Under the optimum conditions removal of cadmium was near to , while the remaining concentration in the solution after flotation was less than 0.10 mg/1. A comparison was also attempted between two flotation techniques applying different bubble generation methods, i.e. dissolved air and dispersed air flotation.
