Does anyone use 1" R8 collets

Face it guys. It's an R8 taper, 1 1/4" on the big end. R8 tooling is cheap but not suited for large cutters. Even if R8 shanks are supplied with honking big excrescences intended to receive 1" shank endmills the may not be practical except for the rare event where no other tool will do. Every thing has limits. A coffee cup won't hold a gallon.
